Read or listen to e-books and e-audibooks through your browser or on the Libby app.


Desktop. Click here for desktop website.

Mobile. Instructions:

  1. Download the Libby app to your device Apple | Google | Microsoft
  2. Login to Libby:  If you have not previously signed in to Libby, you will be asked if you have a library card. Tap Yes. If you do not have a library card, come into the library and we will sign you up for one!
  3. Search for your library in the Search For A Library section either by looking up Albany County Public Library or by putting in our zip code.
  4. Tap the Sign In With My Card button and choose Albany County Public Library. Enter your library card number and PIN and then tap Sign In and then Next.
  5. If you prefer to read with a Kindle tap Yes, I Read With Kindle. Otherwise, tap Skip.
  6. You are all set!

Kindle. Most overdrive e-books are available to read on your kindle device. Select "Read with Kindle" after you borrow an e-book. For more instructions on how to do this, view the video below.

By using this link patrons will be able to access the New York Times online for a 72-hour period. You can use this link as many times as you wish to renew your access to the New York Times.

    1. Click on the link above.
    2. Next to the offer code, click REDEEM.
    3. On the following page you will be asked to create an account or, if you already have an account, you can click Log in
    4. Once you are logged into your account you will have access for 3 days. When your access expires, you can follow these instructions again to continue using the New York Times online

By using this link patrons will be able to access the Wall Street Journal online. You can use this link as many times as you wish to renew your access to the Wall Street Journal.

    2. Next to the offer code, click REDEEM.
    3. On the following page you will be asked to create an account or, if you already have an account, you can click Log in.
    4. Once you are logged into your account you will have access, though the privileges will expire after a period of time. You can regain access by following the steps above.
